How we run every voyage

Ship Operations

BWT's operations team manages the full cycle of each voyage, from voyage planning and port or terminal coordination to loading and discharging operations. This includes liaising with ship agents, cargo surveyors and terminal operators to ensure cargo documentation — including the Statement of Facts and laytime records — is accurate and issued on time. Throughout each voyage, the team maintains direct communication with the vessel to monitor progress, manage port formalities, and respond promptly to any operational issue that may affect schedule or cargo integrity.

Ship Management

BWT's ship management covers both the technical and safety dimensions of vessel operation. On the technical side, this includes planned maintenance of the main engine, cargo pumps, piping and safety equipment under a structured Planned Maintenance System (PMS), together with coordination of statutory and class surveys and spare parts planning to reduce the risk of unplanned downtime. On the safety side, the vessel operates under a Safety Management System (SMS) aligned with the ISM Code, covering navigation and cargo operation safety, emergency response planning, regular drills, and a near-miss and incident reporting process. Internal inspections monitor compliance with company procedures and applicable regulations, keeping the vessel ready for external audits and vetting inspections.

Chartering

BWT offers both Voyage Charter and Time Charter arrangements, structured around each charterer’s cargo requirements and trading limits. Charter party terms — including laytime allowances, demurrage provisions and other commercial conditions — are agreed transparently at the outset of each fixture. This approach gives charterers clarity on commercial terms and operational expectations before cargo is committed, and supports a straightforward settlement process at the end of each voyage or charter period.

Asia

Trading Areas

BWT's current and targeted trading areas cover regional Asian markets. Route selection is guided by charterer demand, port and terminal compatibility, and the vessel's cargo segregation capability, allowing BWT to respond flexibly as trading patterns evolve.
